Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi

Snafu ComicsI know some people these days roll their eyes when they hear the words doujinshi or fanfiction, especially when this post will deal with a powerpuff girl fanfiction. Those who dislike that show should probably just turn away now because I am about to go on about this for a while. Originally I had read this comic by Bleedman back in middle school and only just rediscovered it two days ago. I must warn anyone who wishes to read this by the end of of my spiel that the comic is still going and getting caught up is the worst feeling EVER!!! (What am I suppose to do with my life now?) The fanfiction centers on (obviously) the Powerpuff Girls but also draws heavily from Dexter. There are plenty of other cartoons thrown into the mix as support but these two shows provide most of the comics story. Other references include: Invader Zim, My Life As a Teenage Robot, Fairly Odd Parents, Danny Phantom, Megas XLR, Samurai Jack, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Billy and Mandy, (briefly Flapjack and Chowder), Atomic Betty and others. To briefly summarize, the girls move from Townsville to Megaville where the girls meet Dexter, Otto, Courage and many others where they with other superheros keep everyone safe. Not only do the protagonists come together but so also do the villains unite.

One of my favorite aspects of Bleedman's comic is the interplay of characters that you never thought you'd ever see in the same show together let alone the same channel. The combination of Mandy, Gaz and Lalavava all sitting at a lunch table with Bubbles is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Plus, Mojo Jojo and Zim yelling at each other about the other's complete incompetence reflects their extreme similarities in their consistent failures and the prideful, take-over-the-world blindness towards situations they both suffer from. And of course, all the geniuses in one room: Dexter, Professor Utonium, Professor Wakeman, and Professor Membrane all trying to figure out a simple password for a door. But my favorite part of the entire comic has to be my new favorite coupling, DexterxBlossom. READ IT. You'll know what I mean.

Bleedman has many other comics as well that he is working on such as Sugar Bits, and Grim Tales from Down Below. I've begun reading the latter but have yet to look at the former. I plan to read more of his work because I enjoy the stories he writes and the art style. In reading PPGD alone, you can see how Bleedman has grown as an artist as his style changes and improves throughout reading but too much for it be distracting and/or detracting from the story. As fanfictions go, I give Bleedman's comic so far an 8 out of 10, and as he continues, I believe that score will only increase in rank.

In conclusion, if you like old Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon shows, CHECK THIS OUT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!! The only disappointment you may feel is at its current state of incompletion. But fret not my Lovelies! By visiting his site you can see he has over 10+ comics in the works so a delay is inevitable. I promise you though you will love it!
