Like any other young adult in the world, I suffer a deeply horrifying condition that mars the very soul of young people everywhere: acne. That dreaded word that all have endured and yet all refuse to acknowledge the existence of besides some of those brave souls that will point it out on your face and ask if there's a zit on your face. Those people in polite circles are known as rude but in normal society are called assholes. Many struggle to find the perfect cure for this condition so that we will not be made fun of or considered "ugly" but the Impolite Ones. The unfortunate thing is is that there is no one single cure for it. No matter what people review, everyone's skin differs. Some products work well for one person and are disastrous on another person's face. Skin types aside though, I thought I would review some of the products I've used in the past that may help in the search for your Holy Grail of face washes.
I specifically decided to review on this because I have been using one particular face wash for at least two years that I finally decided to drop: Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Power Clear Scrub.

Microbeads are apparently bad for the environment. |
One of my ex-roommates saw the face wash I was using and told me that microbeads were really bad for you or something. It nagged at me that maybe it was causing my acne to be worse by scratching the skin so much. So I decided to look into it more and found from several sites by typing in "microbead face wash bad" that its terrible for the environment. I read an article that basically said that microbeads are killing fish. The plastic beads that exfoliate your skin get washed down the drain and don't get filtered out by wastewater treatment facilities because they are too small and go right into the ocean. If you want to read more about this you can find it
here. In conclusion, I went shopping for a new product. After many online reviews from Amazon and other sites I found a common consensus: Noxzema.

My Holy Grail of face wash. |
I've been using this stuff since mid-May, so about two months now, and I have never had such a clear face before. (Granted, I also probably increased my chances on this product by now washing my face twice a day--once in the morning when I get ready and once before bed--as opposed to just in the morning.) It stills seems to clean my face better. It smells like eucalyptus and so has a slight burning sensation if you leave it on your face (which is how I know it's getting clean!) So maybe some people wouldn't like the smell, but I love it. For me, this stuff is golden and works wonders! I use it in conjunction with Seabreeze to ensure all dirt and makeup comes off my face. (Noxzema is not perfect when it comes to makeup, it barely makes a dent so you might want to use it with something else like makeup remover first.) I waited to do this review because I wanted to make sure it worked and it definitely has been and I haven't had any bad side-effects from using it. On another note, these are two other face washes I have used that were terrible and I DO NOT recommend buying.

I HATE THIS ONE! IT CAUSED A RASH ON MY FACE! |
 |
This one just didn't do anything, I might as well have just been using water. |
As I already stated, perhaps some of these will work for you and the ones I love won't, but if you're searching for another alternative, Noxzema's one that you should definitely try.
