Console Wars

This will be the first rant, I suppose. The console wars. Is there anything more annoying than gamers (myself included) bickering back and forth about which console is better based solely on the rumors spread about them? No one ever just calms down and waits until release date to argue, we gotta start World War V over who's right. After long enough debate, it isn't even about the topic at hand anymore, it just turns into:  I'm right. You're wrong. Black and white. You are evil and must be eliminated from the planet!!! I burn and pillage your house and family because I am pure and good and right and just!!! I am on a holy crusade from God to wipe your scum console wrongness from the Earth!!!!!!


Ahem, anyways, when it really comes down to it, these consoles really don't have that many differences other than the controllers anyways. (I'm waiting for the uproar at that comment.) The only real differences are  the social media programs each possesses and seriously, why are you buying a console for that anyways!? You're buying it to play games, not to be on facebook. I am personally leaning towards the Xbox One for one main reason: it has Skype. I use Skype every single day so I can play video games with my boyfriend to simulate his sitting right next to me. That feature is useful in my situation not to mention, I already have an Xbox 360, so my Live wouldn't go to waste what with being on the Gold Family plan for my sister, dad and myself. My boyfriend's only main concern is which controller feels better in his hands. (pssst, guess what its also xbox!) He also agrees on the Skype point too obviously. So everyone just calm down already and wait like the normal people. Also what's the appeal to buying it when it first comes out? Remember the Red Ring of Death in Xbox's first year? I didn't buy my system til much later after that problem was solved. I will wait again to see what problems are in store for the first year release consoles. Btw, I am not trying to persuade people to buy one console or the other, but if I was I would say of the two, Steam box!!!!
